LONDON CORNISH
PILOT GIG CLUB
Founded in 2015 ......
Like all good ideas, it started in a pub.

In late 2015, there were a few Cornish guys and gals sat in Covent Garden when Pete Chalkley mentioned starting a London based Cornish Gig Club. The dream was to create a community where the Cornish and all fellow folk could be together and be part of something. To be listened to and supported, socialise and relax as well as focus and achieve (if you wanted to). The rowing was a little secondary!
The club achieved a lot very quickly - in 2016 being voted in as an official Cornish Gig Club by the Cornish Pilot Gig Association on the 17th January, and also getting to the World Champs in the Isles of Scilly the same year. We have built on this strong start year by year with a vibrant membership and crews participating in many regattas throughout the year. We're so pleased with our progress and proud of our crews.
